Homelink 1-12 if your child brought the resource book home please have them return it Friday.

Activity Night

Remember to RSVP for activity night by next Tuesday.  Activity night is Thursday October 6th  from 5-7 pm. Hope to see you for a fun evening.

Math

Homelink 1-11 tonight the students need to look through adds and "buy" 5 or more thing with $100.  We are not using sales tax in this activity.

Math up date

Monday we did 1-10 and had a homelink that used the newspaper.

Tuesday: We did not finish lesson 1-11 so we have no homelink tonight.

Fridays Math

Homelink 1-9 is due on Monday.\
They can use dice, cards 1-9 or slips of paper to complete the work.

(collect newspaper and magazine article for the next few days, bring them in any day)

This week at a glance 9-19-11

Reading:  We are introducing  more C.A.F.E. strategies.  We are working on reading to ourselves and reading with a partner.

Math:  We are in unit 1 we will be doing lessons 1-7 through 1-10 this week.

Science:  Plant Life, 4 parts of a plant.  We will also learn how to compare and contrast plant groups this week.

Michigan:  We are starting Chapter 1 on physical features  we will be doing lessons 1 & 2 this week.

English:  finishing the 4 types of  sentences. Then looking at the parts of a sentence (subject and predicate.)

 Spelling:   The students will get a list of 20 words this week.  They all have short vowel sounds.

Week of 9-12

This is what we are doing in class this week

Reading:  We are starting the reading C.A.F.E.   We are introducing strategies that we will use during  the year.

Math:  We are in unit 1 we will be doing lessons 1-3 through 1-6 this week.

Science:  Starting chapter on Plant Life this week.

Michigan:  We are finishing the 5 Themes of Geography that we started last week.

English:  looking at types of  sentences.

Spelling:   The whole class will do spelling list 1 this week. Test on Friday
